Rock 'n' roll has had quite a resurgence in the last few years in Canada thanks to guitar-driven bands like Monster Truck and The Sheepdogs.

This weekend, one of Australia’s disciples of distortion, The Lazys, are the Down Under's answer to pure hard-driving rock 'n' roll.

After a break out show at Canadian Music Week in 2014, The Lazys signed to a Canadian label and are now in the midst of touring the Land of the Maple Leaf.

The band hits the stage at The Townehouse Tavern for a Sunday night show Nov. 29.

Are you ready to rock? Then meet The Lazys, one of Australia’s best and most talked about live rock bands.

The Lazys don’t sweet-talk and they offer not an ounce of glamour, Townehouse manager Paul Loewenberg said in a news release.

"Live they are gritty, loud, edgy and dangerous," he wrote. "They always deliver a fistful of rock ‘n’ roll, as they now demonstrate on their sizzling new self titled album."

And apparently The Lazys love Canada, at least according to guitarist Matt Morris, who calls this country “our new home away from home.”

“Canada was the very first overseas tour for us as a band,” he said. “Our first show was in a small town called Chicoutimi and it was one of the best gigs I’ve ever played. The people, the crowd — it was just soooo intense and supportive. They definitely love their rock and roll! I love Canada!”

Doors to the show open at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $10 at the door.
