Christmas trees, well evergreens to be more general, smell terrific. But why? Supplied photo.
The Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society's ninth annual Christmas Tree-Lighting Celebration takes place at the farm starting at 6 p.m. Dec. 12.

The Lively community event includes the tree-lighting ceremony followed by Christmas carols performed by local schoolchildren and churches.

There will also be a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, check out vintage toys, milk Northern Maple the replica cow, ride a firetruck and horse-drawn wage, go sliding (if there's enough snow) and enjoy free refreshments.

The event will also serve as a drop-off for Coats for Kids and a chance to donate to the firefighters' food boot drive.

A free shuttle bus is available from the Walden Arena Parking lot to the farm from 5-8 p.m.

For more information, visit the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society's Facebook page or contact Gwen Doyle at 705-692-3021.
