An evening of classical guitar at Cambrian

Acclaimed Dutch classical guitarist Robert Bekkers, will perform in concert at Cambrian College on Feb. 8. The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. and is presented by the Sudbury Guitar Society and the School of Music at Cambrian College.

Acclaimed Dutch classical guitarist Robert Bekkers, will perform in concert at Cambrian College on Feb. 8.

The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. and is presented by the Sudbury Guitar Society and the School of Music at Cambrian College.

Proceeds from this performance will support Cambrian College guitar students who are performing at the Alla Grande Guitar Festival in Ottawa (Feb. 11-14).

All are welcome to come out for a wonderful concert of guitar music that will include classic Bach, as well as Bekkers’ performance of Cuban composer Leo Brouwer’s El Decameron Negro, which is a guitar piece inspired by the 14th century book of stories about life after the Black Plague.

Tickets will be available at the door, or may be reserved by phoning (705) 923- 3456. Seating is limited.

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for students, $10 for seniors and Sudbury Guitar Society members.
