The Association of United Ukrainian Canadians (AUUC), Branch 40 Sudbury, will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Jubilee Centre.

The AUUC is a national organization with headquarters in Edmonton. The organization, formerly known as the Ukrainian Labour Farmer Temple Association, has a long history in Sudbury dating back to the mid-1920s.

In the 1980s members worked with the Sudbury Women’s Centre to establish Jubilee Family Resources day care.

The old AUUC hall was renovated for this purpose. The association purchased the Finnish-Canadian hall next door at 195 Applegrove St., and renamed it the Jubilee Centre. The association sponsors the Jubilee Folk Ensemble, and its cultural committee sponsors special events.

Prior to the meeting, a light lunch will be served starting at 6:30 pm.
