On Saturday evening, CBC Television announced that our neighbouring community of Noelville is among the top five finalists in the Kraft Hockeyville 2007 competition.

A week ago Noelville was among the top 10. Thanks to the tremendous support it's received, it's now among the top five.

Greater Sudbury Mayor John Rodriguez is again inviting the citizens of Greater Sudbury to join him in going to the CBC website at www.cbc.ca/hockeyville and voting for Noelville as the community most deserving of this title.

In addition to the title and trophy, the winning community will receive a $50,000 cash prize to upgrade a publicly-owned arena. It will also be given an opportunity to host an NHL game.

If Noelville wins, that event would be held in Greater Sudbury at the Sudbury Community Arena.

Supporters have until 11 am Friday, March 16, to go to the CBC website to vote.

Rodriguez also encourages businesses to post signs supporting
Noelville in its bid and local schools and community groups to take up the challenge of voting and putting Noelville over the top.
