Free bus rides on New Year's Eve

Greater Sudbury Transit is offering free bus rides between 10 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 31 / Jan. 1, so Greater Sudbury residents don't have to worry about how to get home safely.

City transit services will be following a special holiday schedule on Dec. 24 - 26, Dec. 31, and Jan. 1.

Special Holiday Schedule

Dec. 24

  • Last departure from the transit terminal on all routes will be 6:15 p.m.
  • This final departure to Minnow Lake, New Sudbury, Falconbridge, Coniston, Chelmsford and Valley East will be outbound only
  • All other 6:15 p.m. departures will be round trip

Dec. 25

  • No transit service

Dec. 26

  • Sunday service schedule in effect

Dec. 31

  • Bus schedule will be regular
  • service being extended to 3:30 a.m
  • free service being provided after 10 p.m.
Jan. 1
  • Sunday service schedule will be in effect

    "Only in Sudbury" how many times will some people use this silly phrase? Why would anyone in their right mind go to the city's websight for such information? Or I forgot, those are the people who never leave their computer chairs. (Read a newspaper; never.) And as if they would even use a bus or any other mode of transportation. Lol
