The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) announced an $87,000 investment to four Sudbury businesses Dec. 16.

David and Kevin Lafortune will start up a business to provide design and construction services for structural landscaping.

Brendan McClellan will supply home energy audits to assist homeowners in reducing their energy consumption so that they may access federal and provincial retrofit grants.

Ashley Burton will offer instruction in various artist disciplines, including dance, musical theatre, painting and sketching for clients, ranging in experience from novice to advanced.

Taryn Gadde will start up a new permanent cosmetics and body piercing business, which will offer unique services for permanent make-up, scar camouflage and post-reconstructive surgery procedures.

“These young individuals are contributing their skills and services to the growth of the Greater Sudbury’s business community,” said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci, in a press release.
