The funding was was provided through the NOHFC's Young Entrepreneur Program, which aims to mobilize and sustain a new generation of community builders and entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario, according to a release.
“This investment points to the McGuinty government’s commitment to green technology and the economy,” said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci, who made the announcement, in the release.
“By assisting a young entrepreneur with the start up of this business our government is helping to provide opportunities for Northern youth, and diversify our local economy in a way that also promotes environmental sustainability.”
Since its inception in 2005, the NOHFC’s Young Entrepreneur Program has provided almost $700,000 to Greater Sudbury entrepreneurs, resulting in the start up of more than 30 local businesses.
“I am proud of the work our government has done over the years to support young entrepreneurs and their businesses in Greater Sudbury,” concluded Bartolucci. “I am happy to say that the efforts taken by our government through the Young Entrepreneur program has resulted in the creation of over 50 jobs.”
