Residents of Garson may notice discoloured water or low water pressure on Nov. 19, as city crews undertake emergency repairs to a water main valve.

The area affected by the repairs are Metcalfe Avenue northeast along Falconbridge Highway to O'Neil Drive, and will occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Secondary lines will service residential and business locations in the area, but lower water supply may affect water quality and pressure.

In a release, the city reassures residents that the discoloured water does not pose a health risk, but higher iron content may stain laundry.

Residents are asked to call 3-1-1 if they require more information.
