Market Square will remain open for an extended period this year - until Dec. 12 - rather than closing at the end of October when harvest season is over.

During this extended season, Market Square vendors will include a mixture of current and new merchants, and will feature crafts, Christmas ornaments, baked goods and more. It will provide an opportunity for residents to purchase gifts from local craftspeople, enjoy live music and entertainment, and connect with friends over a warm drink.

Starting November 7, Market Square hours will be Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule of entertainment is included following this PSA. For more information or to rent a table at the market, please call 3-1-1 or visit www.mysudbury.ca/marketsquare .

Market Square is also hosting a Halloween celebration, PumpkinFest 2009, Oct. 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

There will be Halloween celebrations, including a pumpkin-decorating contest with local artists, face painting, costume contests, pumpkin-themed food, and children’s entertainment. Join Dale Pepin (a.k.a.“Storysocks”) at Noon and children’s musical “edutainer” Charlie at 1:00 p.m.
