Euphoria Smoothies and Bistro, which opened on Cedar Street recently, was boosted by a $25,000 investment from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.

The eatery will employ one person full-time, and four others part-time.

“Amy and I are very grateful and encouraged by the support received by NOHFC,” said Geoff Hatton, co-owner of Euphoria Smoothies and Bistro, in a press release. “This program has not only enabled us to start our own business and create local employment for our community, it has also provided us with the opportunity to realize our dreams.”

The sentiments are echoed by Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci.

“The NOHFC's Young Entrepreneur Program is helping our young people build futures for themselves in Sudbury,” he said in a press release. “By supporting new ventures by young entrepreneurs, we are helping mobilize a new generation of business leaders and community builders.”

Since 2005, the NOHFC's Young Entrepreneurs Program has invested more than $650,000 to help launch 30 new businesses in Greater Sudbury.

  • And why couldn't they invest in Uncle Danno's Ammo Depot? Something that Northerners can actually relate to... I smell some prejudice here.
