The Sudbury Arena is now sporting a new sign. The cost of the new sign is $50,000, paid for through the arena's Coca-Cola Bottling Company's exclusivity allowance.

The cost included the Marquee sign and new score clocks inside the arena. Event and current weather updates are now done by computer, said Sudbury Arena manager Ray Mensour. Event updates used to be changed manually using a ladder and plastic letters.

  • Thank you Coke, say what you want about the arena, its a good hockey barn. I was part of the construction of the Essar, (Steelback ) they have awsome box seats and media room. They are 2 great places to watch OHL. As for North Bay, Well suck to be you. Not great hockey fans I guess, they lose their OHL ,team, the Skyhawks are on shaky ground. Its too bad because it was a great rivalry between the Wolves and Centenials.

  • Corporate/private money funding for an arena? See counsel? This works. Time to think on a larger scale now. Like having private funds build and pay for the proposed Rec Centre. Have the same idea for the Arts Centre as well. It''s worked in the Sault. Mississauga, Barrie, and Toronto. Just to name a few.
