Students and staff at St. Benedict's Catholic Secondary school donned pink on Feb. 5 to show their support for the fight against cancer.

The school's students were allowed to replace parts or all of their uniform on "pink day," with pink clothing if they paid a toonie.

The money raised by students will be donated to the Janis Foligno Foundation. Janis passed away July 27, 2009, after a five-year battle with breast cancer.

Two of her children, Lisa and Marcus, attended St. Benedict's.

The proceeds from pink day will be presented to Marcus when he speaks at St. Benedict's open house on Feb. 16.
