A bad-faith hearing scheduled for Vale Inco and the United Steelworkers with the Ontario Labour Relations Board has been delayed.

The delay was caused by a scheduling problem on the board's part, Steve Ball, Vale Inco spokesperson, said.

A new date for the hearing has not been set.

Vale Inco and members of the United Steelworkers Union's Local 6500 have been on strike since July 13. During this time, neither side has returned to the table.

The Steelworkers represent workers striking in Greater Sudbury, Port Colborne, Ont., and Voisey's Bay in Nfld.

  • A desperate ploy by a union trying to find anything to justify their misguided strike.
Deflection, foot dragging, ignoring the real issues. 7 months on and many more to go the Stealworkers have lost the battle.
Part of the false information now is the bogus rumour that somehow the union members will get a payday (Now up to $50,000) when Vale is found guilty.
Anything to stir up emotion, hope and keep the lemmings in line.
Reality is tough to digest. The smelter and mines are starting up. Vale warned the union in the early winter. They did it again after Christmas. And they delivered.
    It's Over.
