Butler-Jones will be making his presentation from 12-1 p.m. in room 107 of NOSM's building at Laurentian University. The presentation will also be video-linked to NOSM's west campus in Thunder Bay.
The speaker will provide insight into how Canada’s first pandemic in nearly 40 years unfolded, how and why the country was able to respond as it did, and how strengthening relationships between
every sector of society will ultimately determine how we respond to future outbreaks.
Butler-Jones heads the Public Health Agency of Canada which provides leadership on the government’s efforts to protect and promote the health and safety of Canadians.
He has worked in many parts of Canada in both Public Health and Clinical Medicine, and has consulted in a number of other countries. He has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has been involved as a researcher in a broad range of public health issues, according to a press release.
