Rainbow District School Board's board office employees donated $1,000 to the Elgin Street Mission on July 7.

Pastor René Soullière, who helps to run the Elgin Street Mission, said the organization is all about “people helping people,” and he thanked Rainbow District School Board employees for making a difference.

“In Rainbow Schools, we focus on character development and building a just, humane, democratic, respectful society,” Jean Hanson, the school board's director of education, said. “Pastor Soullière and the volunteers from the Elgin Street Mission bring life to those words.”

A piece of art produced by students from Rainbow Schools was also presented to Soullière. “The circle of people made by little people is symbolic of everything that we do,” he said. “All different hands join together to help everyone in the community.”
