Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci has been shifted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

He takes over the post from St. Catharines MPP Jim Bradley, who will now head up Bartolucci's old ministry, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

In a press release issued by the province, Bartolucci will be responsible for ensuring "all Ontario communities — rural and urban — continue to benefit."

The big change in the cabinet is the demotion of John Gerretsen, the former Minister of the Environment (MOE), a post now held by John Wilkinson.

Gerretsen was head of the MOE when backlash against the province's new eco fee forced the province to backtrack on the recycling charge.

The new cabinet

Changed
Jim Bradley - Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services
Rick Bartolucci - Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
Sophia Aggelonitis - Minister of Revenue and Minister responsible for seniors
John Wilkinson - Minister of the Environment
John Gerretsen - Minister of Consumer Services
Bob Chiarelli - Minister of Infrastructure
Glen Murray - Minister of Research and Innovation

  • lol... I can't tell if that is sarcasm or not?

  • If we didn't have Bartolucci, then Sudbury would have nothing! Thank God we have him! With the worn out Conservatives and the communist NDP never going to be voted in as a majority in this province, we need a progressive Liberal cabinet minister.

  • Its like the deck chairs on the Titanic.

  • wonferful, a nice lateral, non-effective shuffle, to reduce accontability. Hey at least it is transparent!!!!

  • Same Old worn out Politician..
I wonder what colour the fence he is sitting on now, is?

  • Very happy for Rick Bartolucci. He has now been shifted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. He is a very smart man and I really like him because he is very smart.Congratulations Rick.

  • So Gerretsen keeps his post, even though he shamed the government over the eco-fee fiasco and is not expected to run in 2011... My guess is that the Bartman isn't running either. Good riddance!

  • Is this a promotion for the 'good job' he did 'settling' the Vale strike?,lol

  • thank goodness Rick was named to the be the Minister of Labour ... then Vale would definitely have won this last round!

  • So Rick and Jim exchange Ministries.Where's the logic?? Wake up Dalton. I guess this way no one is accountable for anything that's happened.
