Greater Sudbury businessman Fabio Belli has announced his intent to run for Ward 8 in the Oct. 25 municipal elections.

The current councillor for Ward 8, Ted Callaghan, is challenging current city mayor John Rodriguez this fall.

Belli owns and operates Just Soccer in New Sudbury. He took home the 2003 Northern Ontario Business Association's Young Entrepreneur Award and the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce's Young Entrepreneur Award.

In a press release, Belli said he intends to use his "sharp business acumen and strong sense of community to help make decisions which are geared to improving the quality of life for all citizens of Greater Sudbury."

Belli intends to unveil his platform in the coming weeks.
