Adults invited to register for high school courses

The Rainbow District School Board is accepting registrations for adult education day courses Sept. 7-10.

Those interested in registering are asked to go to the Continuing Education Centre at Sudbury Secondary School's Davidson Street entrance weekdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Students should bring a copy of their most recent transcript, their birth certificate and health card when they come in to register.

Registration for night school classes being offered by Rainbow District School Board this fall will take place from Sept. 9-16 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.

There will be evening registrations for Night School Sept. 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Adult day classes begin Sept. 13.

Adult day courses are available to any adults 19 years of age and older and out of high school for at least one semester. Adults can earn two high school credits in approximately six weeks.

Courses in computers, math, science, physics, English, anthropology, psychology, sociology, Native studies, career studies, civics and more are available throughout the year.

Night school classes begin the week of Sept. 20 and are open to everyone. Credit courses are free. Classes include English, math, biology, chemistry and computers. There is a nominal fee for a German Language general interest course that is being offered.

Heritage language courses for elementary aged children will be offered in Finnish, Polish and German.

  • A law has to be placed for all the transients that hang out at the Bus Depost. No school, no welfare money.
