“Today, across our community, children will enter their full-day kindergarten classrooms for the first time,” Bartolucci said, in a press release.
“Throughout the year, they will learn new skills and have enriching experiences to help prepare them academically and socially for Grade 1 and get them on track for future success.”
Students who achieve early success in school are more likely to perform well later in school and go on to postsecondary education, the press release said.
“I have always looked forward to the first day of school and this year, I’m especially excited about the start of full-day kindergarten. It will help prepare our children for a stronger future and help meet the needs of families in our community,” Bartolucci said.
