Rainbow District School Board students will receive a publication called a “Guide for Students and Parents” during the first week of school.

The guide contains information that will serve as an important reference throughout the school year, stated a press release from the school board.

The Guide for Students and Parents features information about services, programs and policies, including the Code of Conduct, the inclement weather policy, and an anaphylaxis alert that talks about severe allergies to nut products.

The guide also includes a directory of schools and key contacts, a calendar of school holidays, provincial assessments, professional activity days, secondary school examination days and open houses, as well as information about school councils and opportunities to volunteer.

“The Guide for Students and Parents is a first step in our efforts to enhance communication between the home and the school,” Norm Blaseg, the school board's director of education, said.

“We invite parents/guardians to keep this publication in a handy place and refer to it throughout the school year.”

The Guide for Students and Parents is available online at www.rainbowschools.ca.
