Gas prices decline in Sudbury

Higher gas prices in southern Ontario offset lower prices in the north, causing the Ontario average retail price of regular unleaded gasoline to increase slightly, by 0.6 cents to $1.31.
Higher gas prices in southern Ontario offset lower prices in the north, causing the Ontario average retail price of regular unleaded gasoline to increase slightly, by 0.6 cents to $1.31.4 a litre, according to the province's weekly report ending April 30.

Prices rose by 1.6 cents in Toronto East, 1.2 cents in London, 1.1 cents in Ottawa, and 0.9 cents in Toronto West.

For the week leading up to April 30, prices fell by 3.4 cents in Windsor, 2.8 cents in North Bay, 2.4 cents in Sudbury (from an 11-month high), one cent in Timmins, and less than a cent in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay.

In Sudbury, current gas prices range from $1.35.5 to $1.38.3, according to Ontariogasprices.com.

In Timmins, current gas prices range from $1.42.6 to $1.42.9.

In North Bay, current gas prices range from $1.26.7 to $1.37.9.

In Sault Ste. Marie, current gas prices range from $1.42.3 to $1.44.9.

Ottawa had the lowest average price for the fourth straight week last week.

The average price gap between northern and southern Ontario narrowed from a 41-month high of 11.7 cents to 9.3 cents.

The Ontario retail diesel price increased by 0.4 cents from a two-month low to $1.30.2.

The Canadian average retail gasoline price declined for the second straight week, by 0.1 cents to $1.31.9, a two-month low.

Prices fell by 6.3 cents in Charlottetown, 6.1 cents in Halifax (to a three-month low), 5.8 cents in Saint John (to a two-month low), 3.2 cents in St. John’s (to a two-month low), 3.1 cents in Edmonton, 2.7 cents in Quebec City (from a 43-month high), 1.9 cents in Montreal (to a two-month low), and 1.7 cents in Calgary.

Prices rose by 2.3 cents in Vancouver (from a two-month low), 1.5 cents in Winnipeg, and 1.4 cents in Toronto.

The Canadian retail diesel price declined for the third straight week, by 0.8 cents to $1.28.2, a three-month low.
