Job seekers can now toss their name into the hat for a job at Cliffs Natural Resources’ ferrochrome processing facility in Capreol.

As of June 2, the company is accepting resumes via its website, where a list of positions has been posted. Administration, clerical, human resources and accounting duties are amongst the jobs listed, but Cliffs is also accepting submissions for technical positions in engineering, metallurgy, trades, IT and general labour.

In a note to job seekers, the company indicates the website will act as a repository for resumes “until an expected timeframe for recruiting in the specific job categories begins.” Job seekers are encouraged to submit their resumes “for future consideration.”

Last month, Cliffs announced it would locate its ferrochrome processing facility in Capreol, which had been used as the base case for the smelter, which will process chromite from the Black Thor property in the James Bay Lowlands’ Ring of Fire.

The facility is one of three components of the chromite project. The furnace will refine ore and concentrate in an enclosed electric arc furnace, and the final product (molten ferrochrome matte) will be shipped to customer base where required by rail.
