Bot and the Ministry of Transportation will be finalizing contract arrangements over the next several weeks before a formal award can be confirmed.
“Our ongoing investments in the expansion of Highway 69 are building a safer road for our community while at the same time, generating economic development and job creation in the north,” Bartolucci said.
The project involves construction of an 11-kilometre stretch from 3.1 kilometres north of Highway 64. Construction will start by late July or early August and is anticipated for completion in August 2015.
“Once the contract is awarded, construction of this stretch of highway is expected to create approximately 550 jobs,” Bartolucci said.
