Desjardins Voyageurs Credit Union gave away nine bicycles to some lucky young members of the School Caisse Program at its second annual Bicycle Giveaway.
A draw was held in the nine schools that participate in the School Caisse Program.
“The bicycle draw in each of the schools encourages children to become involved in the program and motivates them to make regular deposits,” Jean-Marc Spencer, executive director of Desjardins Voyageurs Credit Union, said.
Nearly 400 “young investors” from the French public and French separate school boards participated in the program in 2011-2012.
This School Caisse Program aimed to teach sound money management skills to students, allowing them to count their own money, calculate their total deposits and fill out their own deposit envelopes.
