The University of Sudbury and the Laurentian University Faculty Union recently negotiated a new three-year collective agreement.

Several modifications were made to the current collective agreement in “very little time,” according to a joint press release sent out by the two parties.

The parties also agreed to a memorandum of agreement on a “teaching-intensive option” for faculty, the press release said.

This is a first for the university and its faculty, and will be undertaken as a pilot project over the next three years.

“Both the university and its faculty union wish to thank the negotiating teams for their efforts,” the press release said.

“Their respectful approach to the process allowed for a productive outcome satisfactory to both parties.”
