Another wide-load escort, scheduled from Aug. 28, will close sections of a route from Lively to Copper Cliff.

The escort starts at 12:30 p.m. and involves transporting a large piece of industrial equipment that will take up two lanes of traffic.

The route being followed will be as follows:
-Highway 17 West to Fielding Road in Lively
-North on Fielding Road to Municipal Road 55
-East on Municipal Road 55 to Balsam Street in Copper Cliff
- The destination is Vale

The width of the load exceeds the width of two standard roadway lanes and will require the closure of sections of the roads to ensure that no vehicles are parked or obstructing the move and that no vehicles are travelling towards the wide load while in transit, police said.

The wide loads will have police escorts in addition to escort vehicles and the Greater Sudbury Police Service will be closing roadway sections as the wide load moves along the route to ensure public and roadway safety.

This will create a series of short-term inconveniences for the residents and businesses in these areas and for those travelling along the routes listed above.

Local businesses in the area of Fielding Road are asked to ensure no vehicles are parked on the shoulder of the road way.
