The Shelter will only charge the fee for the municipal licence for dogs and cats or the cost of spay/neuters and microchips for animals that need to be fixed. It takes place at the shelter at 411 St. Agnes St. West in Azilda from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Shelter's Aug. 18 event was a resounding success — 10 dogs and 34 cats were adopted, according to a news release. There was a steady stream of visitors, many of whom visited just to take advantage of the open house and tour the shelter.
With more than 300 visitors, Shelter staff are pleased with the number of animals that were adopted. Come the Sept. 29 adopt-a-thon, there will be several “beautiful, friendly, playful and healthy fixed and vaccinated adults cats and dogs looking for homes available at the cost of a $15 licence.”
Anyone interested in adopting a pet or would like a tour of the animal shelter is welcome to attend and enjoy a complimentary barbecue and refreshments.
