Filming of Be My Valentine, which will involve a simulated fire department response to a business in the area, will restrict access to Durham Street today between Elgin Street and Medina Lane until 5 p.m., said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Uniformed officers will be on site throughout this time period to ensure that both public and film crew safety is ensured.

Any closure of Durham Street will be intermittent and for short durations of time.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be able to pass through the area, but will be restricted to the east side of the roadway.

Various Sudbury organizations will be operating jointly to ensure that this filming takes place with the least impact on this area as possible, according to a news release. Representatives from Sudbury Transit, Sudbury EMS, Sudbury Fire Department and the Greater Sudbury Police Service will co-operatively organize these intermittent closures.

Public access to parking during this period will be restricted to allow a safe environment for the filming to occur.

The public is urged to access the downtown area using alternate routes during this time period.
