École St-Paul supports Walden Lions Club initiative

By: Sudbury Northern Life Staff

École St-Paul in Lively has partnered with the Walden Lions Club to collect unused glasses for those in other countries.

Lions Clubs are known worldwide for helping blind and visually-impaired individuals through eyeglass recycling, vision screenings and more.

A year ago, Bryan Todd from Todd Optical, a volunteer with the program, came to École St-Paul to give a presentation to students about the Lion Eyeglass Recycling program.

The students decided to help the Walden Lions by becoming a drop-off center. Between Todd Optical and École St-Paul, 163 pairs of glasses and seven pairs of lenses have been collected.

“We salute École St-Paul of Lively for helping make a difference across the world,” a press release from the Walden Lions Club stated.

“Every pair of eye glasses collected will be going to a good cause. You will be assured that someone out there will be a proud recipient of the donated eye glasses.”
