LU to name school of mines for Ned Goodman

Laurentian University will officially name its school of mines for Ned Goodman Oct. 15.

Goodman is the president and CEO of Dundee Corporation, as well as Ned Goodman Investment Counsel Inc., and chairman of Dundee Capital Markets Inc. He is the founder of Goodman and Company Investment Counsel as well as Beutel Goodman and Company Investment Counsel.

He's also the founder and benefactor of the Goodman Institute of Investment Management, a graduate school for investment management at Concordia University in Montreal. Goodman serves there as an adjunct professor.

The announcement will take place starting at 2 p.m. in Laurentian's Alumni Hall.
