In addition to distributing footwear, professionals will conduct routine foot assessments and foot-related education.
BioPed locations across the country will be doing the same thing that day.
Established by BioPed in March 2010, goodytwoshoes aims to give the gift of comfort, activity and better foot health to thousands of Canadians.
Since then, thousands of gently-loved shoes have been donated by patients of the more than 45 BioPed full-service clinics across Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and British Colombia.
“We often take footwear for granted,” Robin Schleien, president and CEO of BioPed Franchising Inc.
“But, in fact, many Canadians – children and adults – either go without decent shoes or have none at all. We created the goodytwoshoes foundation to help fulfil this basic need.”
Sudburians are invited to drop off new or slightly used footwear at BioPed Sudbury, located at 1942 Regent Street South, Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. until Oct. 16.
BioPed Sudbury is also holding its first ever inventory clearance until Oct. 17, and 10 per cent of the proceeds going towards goodytwoshoes.
