On Oct 9, a 24-year-old man became embroiled in a dispute with a 28-year-old fellow tenant at a rooming house in Sudbury. The tenant had gone back to his own room, assuming the argument was over with and had locked his door.

Shortly thereafter, he heard the male suspect approaching his doorway while yelling that he was going to kill him. The suspect smashed open the door and proceeded to assault the victim with numerous punches to his face and body.

The victim was saved by a fellow tenant who heard his screams. The suspect then fled the area. Police were unable to locate him and a warrant was requested for his arrest.

On Friday evening, the suspect turned himself into police. He is charged with forcible entry, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, assault causing bodily harm, uttering death threats and breach of probation. He was scheduled be in Sudbury court on the morning of Oct. 20. The victim was treated in hospital and released.
