The following road work will impact traffic, advises the City of Greater Sudbury.

Larch Street: An upgrade to water and sanitary service at the corner of Larch Street and Young Street will close the road in that area from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2. A detour will be marked at Larch Street and Minto Street, and at Larch Street and Young Street.

Skead Road, Garson: Culvert repair will close a lane near 239 Skead Rd. starting Oct. 22 through Oct. 24.

Third Avenue, Lively: Third Avenue in Lively from Main Street to Philip Street is closed from now until the end of November. The road will remain open for local traffic and emergency vehicles only.

Cote Boulevard and Capreol Road, Hanmer (the changing of traffic control at the intersection of Cote Boulevard (MR 80) and Capreol Road (MR 84) to improve safety at the CN Rail crossing East of the intersection):

Starting Oct. 22, the stop signs facing eastbound and westbound traffic on Cote Boulevard will be removed. This will leave only a stop sign facing southbound traffic on Capreol Road. This is a standard form of traffic control at a "T" intersection. At this time, eastbound to northbound left-turning drivers are reminded that they must now yield to westbound traffic.

Signs will be posted at the intersection advising drivers of the new traffic controls, and the date that the final changes will be made. Drivers are asked to be extra cautious during the change.

This change is being made at the request of Transport Canada to reduce cars and long trucks from stopping on the at-grade CN Rail crossing east of the intersection.
