Rainbow District Animal Control and Shelter Services' monthly adopt-a-thon initiatives continue to be a resounding success, according to the shelter's management.

As such, the next adopt-a-thon takes place Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 411 St. Agnes St. West in Azilda.

The Shelter will waive the normal adoption fees for the day and will only charge the fee for the municipal licence for dogs, cats or the cost of spay/neuters and microchips for animals that need to be fixed.

“Our monthly events have been a resounding success, with several dogs and cats finding new homes,” said Richard Paquette in a news release. “We have had a steady stream of visitors, many just to take advantage of the Open House and tour the shelter.”

There will be plenty of animals looking for homes at the cost of a $15 licence. Anyone interested in adopting a pet or who would like a tour of the animal shelter is welcome to attend and enjoy a complimentary coffee and donuts.
