Classes continuing at Confederation

By: Sudbury Northern Life Staff

Pinecrest Public School was safely evacuated Oct. 30 at approximately 10:45 a.m. because an underground power line is being repaired on school property.

Students have been bused to Confederation Secondary School where they will remain for the balance of the day.

Students will be transported home at their regular dismissal time.

Students who walk to school were sent home early if school officials were able to contact parents.

Work on the power line will continue until the end of the week.

In the meantime, classes for Pinecrest will take place at Confederation Secondary School Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Students who walk to school will be picked up at Pinecrest at 8:45 a.m., then transported to Confederation Secondary School.

At the end of the school day, walkers will be picked up at Confederation at 3:05 p.m. and returned to Pinecrest Public School by 3:20 p.m.

Pinecrest students who are bused to school will receive transportation to Confederation Secondary School from their regular bus stops.

Pinecrest Public School is scheduled to reopen Nov. 2.
