Pennies For Pediatrics is an initiative of the HSN Volunteer Association, in co-operation with HSN Volunteer Services.
The goal of Pennies For Pediatrics is to raise $100,000 for the construction of a Snoezelen Pool, which uses special sound and lighting for the treatment of children with developmental conditions such as autism.
"Our goal was to raise money for a local charity that supports children," said Chris Bourré, principal of Copper Cliff Public School.
"When the Pennies for Pediatrics campaign was announced, it was a perfect fit. Our kids welcome the opportunity to give back to the community, and they held lots of great events to raise the money, like pyjama days and wacky hair days."
“This is an amazing accomplishment on the part of Copper Cliff Public School,” said Jeff Sampson, clinical manager of HSN’s Children’s Treatment Centre. “It is wonderful to see kids helping other kids in our community, in very creative ways.”
