Apprenticeship information available at YMCA event

Those considering a career in the skilled trades can take advantage of an apprenticeship information session being organized by YMCA Employment and Newcomer services.

The session will provide valuable information on what is needed to start an apprenticeship, along with the incentives available to employers and apprentices.

The session will be held Nov. 20 from 5-7 p.m. A panel of local employers, along with a representative from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities apprenticeship b1ranch, will be on hand to answer questions and to share their expertise.

The following sectors are expected to attend: hairstyling and esthetics, early childhood education, welding and construction.

Information on additional trades will be made available for attendees.

The YMCA Employment and Newcomer Services is located at 10 Elm St. in the Rainbow Centre, directly across from the Sudbury Transit bus terminal. Free parking is available. Anyone interested in attending the session, should call 705-674-2324 to register.
