All charities and qualified not-for-profit organizations in Sudbury are welcome to submit Stage 1 project grant applications to the Sudbury Community Foundation.

The organization is a public foundation that gives out grants to a range of local charities, including those serving the arts, environment, recreation, children and youth, social services, health, seniors, the homeless and education sectors.

It has more than $2.7 million in assets, and has distributed upwards of $445,000 in grants locally.

This year, grants will be handed out in children and children’s wish projects, environmental projects, arts and culture and health and recreation.

Interested organizations are invited to send “brief and compelling” letters of interest, less than two pages, outlining their mission, programs, strategic goals, charitable number, client number, the number of clients they serve and why they need funding.

“The letter is designed to spark interest in your organization, its programs, and why you need support,” a media release from the SCF stated. “Following this, a short list of applicants will be invited to submit a full application.”

As much as $25,000, as well as business support, is available over two years to qualified charities.
