The sun was shining on hundreds of people outside enjoying winter to its fullest Saturday afternoon at Winterfest.
Event organizer Rod Bazinet said it was “the best day of the season” for the second annual festival on the shores of Moonlight Beach.
“Everyone's having a blast,” he said.
Families were taking part in all sorts of activities, like sliding, ice fishing, skating, snowmobiling and simply enjoying the outdoors.
“That's exactly what it's about,” Bazinet said. “If you get them to the park, they're going to play in the snow.”
Jennifer Quirion was at the festival with her young daughter, her husband and her extended family.
“I think it's fun,” she said. “The kids are enjoying themselves. (It's) a nice day outside.”
Winterfest activities continue Feb. 17 at Moonlight Beach. For more information, visit www.sudburywinterfest.com.
