The province is investing $3.3 million in a makeover of St. Charles College.

This construction project will accommodate the consolidation of grade 7 and grade 8 students into the secondary school and help address safety and security issues by relocating the existing administrative office to the new main entrance.

“Through this investment we are ensuring students have safe and modern places to learn,” Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci said in a press release.

“We know that when students are in good learning environments, they can focus more on their learning.”

“On behalf of the Sudbury Catholic Board of Trustees, I want to thank our provincial government for their ongoing support,” said Jody Cameron, chair of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board.

“This new funding will allow us the opportunity to address the needs of St. Charles College Secondary School, and brings with it a renewed sense of community for our New Sudbury students, parents and stakeholders.”

“Investing in our schools is critical to helping every student reach his or her full potential and succeed,” Bartolucci said.

“Our government is committed to making the necessary investments and planning to ensure the future success of our children and grandchildren.”
