A family fun day fundraiser is being held March 16 at the Capreol Cross-Country Ski Club in memory of three-and-a-half-year-old Connor McDavid.

The local preschooler died in 2010 due to complications related to an asthma attack.

For the past three years, his parents, Andria and Chris McDavid, have organized the fundraiser in support of the Connor McDavid Asthma Foundation, which raises money for Health Sciences North's pediatric asthma clinic.

The family fun day will include face painting, a fishing hole, sliding, prizes, a penny sale and a barbecue.

Andria told Northern Life at a 2011 press conference that Connor left an impression on everyone he met.

“He was the best little kid you could ask for,” she said. “He was personable. He said 'hi' to people on the street that he didn't even know. He just greeted everybody with a smile.”

For more information, contact Andria at 705-918-4686 or Chris at 705-918-4787.
