The aim of the Pink Tour 2013 is to let women know that one-third of breast cancers are preventable and that regular screening save lives.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women over the age of 20; and one in nine Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, a press release from the foundation said.
The Pink Tour brings critical breast health information to women where they live, work and play and will reach diverse communities across Ontario.
The foundation encourages women to get on board to learn practical tips that can help reduce breast cancer risk and the benefits of screening with the Ontario Breast Screening Program.
The Pink Bus will be at the Val Caron City of Lakes Family Health Centre in Val Caron from 12-2 p.m. and the CIBC/Shoppers Drug Mart area at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Visitors are invited to take part in an interactive learning experience about breast health, record your personal video pledge to live well and sign the bus. Eligible women can also book an appointment for a mammogram.
