The funding will help with renovations and will be distributed as follows:
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 503 Onaping Falls/Levack will receive $13,800 to replace the flooring, which will help ensure that this aging, but well-used four-season community facility continues to be safe, accessible and available to people of all ages and abilities for a variety of social and recreational activities.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 564 Lockerby/Sudbury will receive $132,600 to replace windows, roof, flooring, duct work and install a fully accessible entrance to the facility. These improvements will increase accessibility and reduce both health concerns and operational costs of the building.
“These organizations are important to the growth and vitality of our community,” said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci. “I am proud of our government’s continued support of local services in Greater Sudbury.”
Each year, the OTF provides about 1,500 grants to not-for-profit and charitable organizations across Ontario.
