There were some tense moments at Health Sciences North Oct. 17 after a teenage patient was reported missing.
A code was called at roughly 3:30 p.m., and the hospital's protocols for a missing youth were enacted, according to an email from Health Sciences North spokesperson Dan Lessard.
Police were called. The patient was found off of hospital property and returned willingly to the Ramsey Lake Health Centre within an hour, he said.
The hospital does not disclose what protocols are used in such an instance — or even what code was called — because it doesn't want to compromise its security measures, said Lessard.
