Firefighters responded to the New Sudbury fire around 8:30 a.m.
“When crews arrived the front was fully involved,” platoon chief, Chad Whitmore, said. “It was knocked out quickly.
“Everyone was out, there were no injuries.”
The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, told Northern Life that he just purchased the home two months ago. His sister and parents were also staying at the home on Windermere Crescent.
His sister was the only one home at the time of the fire. She was quick to call the fire department after she saw smoke and flames in the living room.
“I was at work this morning when I got a call from my sister, and she said ‘Your house is on fire,'” the homeowner said.
There is no estimate on the amount of damage at this time.
