The trip was timed to coincide with Ellie's 10th birthday.
“Words cannot describe the joy and appreciation that we all felt in the days leading up to and during Ellie’s wish,” said Chanal Venne, Ellie’s mother.
Ellie suffers from a brain tumor, and her wish was to go to Disney World and go to the ocean for her birthday.
The Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario staff and their partners made sure that Ellie and her family received first-class accommodations, visits to all of the theme parks and had time for the beach.
“We are happy to have been able to grant Ellie her well-deserved wish,” said Julie Nicholls, local wish grantor. “We hope that she cherishes these memories for a lifetime.”
Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
It is a part of the largest wish-granting organization in the world and can be found in more than 36 countries on five continents.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted more than 250,000 wishes worldwide since inception.
