Presented by Vale, the campaign was launched Oct. 21 at Vrab’s Independent Grocer’s.
“Vale values our relationship with Easter Seals and is a proud supporter of Nickels for the North,” said Angie Robson, manager of Corporate Affairs for Vale’s Ontario Operations. “We are pleased to see this campaign grow from schools into the broader community so that together we can raise much-needed funds to help children with physical disabilities receive the equipment they need to reach their full potential.”
Nickels for the North began in 2005 and continues to be a beacon of light and help for the kids of Easter Seals. They will also qualify for great prizes, including pizza parties, pool parties, private movie screenings, and Dynamic Earth and Science North outings.
The silver lining – all nickel deposits go directly to help local children and youth with physical disabilities.
For the past 90 years, Easter Seals Ontario has been offering programs and services to help children and youth with physical disabilities achieve a greater level of acceptance and independence.
Easter Seals provides financial assistance for the purchase of costly mobility equipment and communication devices as well as fully accessible summer camp and funding for other summer recreational programs. Easter Seals also provides access to information and resources, as well as public education and awareness.
