With winter just around the corner, DBi Services is gearing up to deploy their new state-of-the-art Tow Plows.
The Tow Plow is essentially a trailer that it towes behind a tandem-axle plow truck and is equipped with a standard front-mounted plow.
The unit is able to clear two lanes at once and treat the road with salt or sand at the same time.
The equipment was first introduced on Highway 17 and Highway 69 last year, but the Ontario Provincial Police say drivers still don't know what to expect when they approach a Tow Plow on the highway.
"People didn't understand the concept," said Const. Lucie Sirois. "Which is why we're here to today to give them the concept of the Tow Plow."
The OPP is warning drivers not to pass a Tow Plow on the right or the left. Drivers should remain a good distance behind the plow, be patient and follow the truck until you reach your destination.
