Dancing with Easter Seals Stars runs Feb. 28

They’ve been practising for months, and now it’s time to see if they can move like Fred Astaire.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Dancing with Easter Seals Stars, presented by Norman Piché/Investors Group Feb. 28 at the Caruso Club.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour, hors d'oeuvres served by the Sudbury Rotary Sunrisers and local police officers.

Wine tasting will be followed by dinner, musical entertainment and a live Dancing with Easter Seals Stars competition.

The competitors include Julianne Foisy from Royal Lepage, Dr. Sandra Fortier from Health Sciences North, Alain Lessard, owner of Rhythm and Cues, Rémi Foisy from Vale, Johanne Nagel from Laurentian University and Todd Hilton, a manager with OLG.

Celebrity judges, including Mayor Marianne Matichuk, Northern Life managing editor Mark Gentili, Audra from Rewind Radio and Stéphane Paquette, along with guests, will determine which dance team will be 2014 stars.

“The Easter Seals celebrity dancers have put in a lot of practice with our dance coaches over the past few months,” said Karen Wilson, the event's co-chair.

“This is such a premiere event in our community and a unique way to help out local kids with physical disabilities.”
